The
River Kwai of World War II
fame is also a scenic waterway flowing between limestone cliffs and
rolling mountains located only a few hours out of Bangkok. In the
mountains you will find hill tribes, refugees from tribal wars in
Burma, dense bamboo and deciduous forests, and a wealth of history
from pre-history to the recent Great War.
The following trek takes you exploring this region on foot, bamboo
raft, and elephant back.
